Steve Bartlett
Steve brings decades of leadership experience in public service, business, and nonprofit governance. He served as a member of the Dallas City Council, represented Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983 to 1991, and was elected Mayor of Dallas in 1991. During his tenure as mayor, he led efforts to reduce violent crime, revitalize downtown Dallas, and implement a $5 billion capital improvement plan that helped shape the city’s long-term growth and development.
Following his public service career, Steve served as President and CEO of the Financial Services Roundtable, representing many of the nation’s largest financial institutions. He has also served on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards and was a principal author of the Americans with Disabilities Act. His extensive experience in governance, strategic planning, public policy, and community development provides valuable insight and leadership to the Science Mill Board of Directors.
