She began working at the SAHS in 2009 part-time and the role evolved into CEO in 2011. Currently her mission is to continue cultivating working relationships with the City of San Antonio, grow lasting partnerships with organizations concerned with animal welfare, and oversee the operations of the San Antonio Humane Society and its 90+ employees - all to help people and the dogs and cats of the shelter, San Antonio and surrounding areas.  Nancy has been the recipient of many awards during her working years; some of which include:

  • Recipient of Women’s Leadership Award from the San Antonio Business Journal

  • Recipient of the Women Business Leaders Hope Award from the Ford Motor Company and the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

Najim Charitable Foundation – among just a few.  Nancy also enjoys spending time with her daughters, Chrissy and Melissa and her four wonderful grandchildren – Carter, Madyson, Camille and Harper.
