linda mCclure

After raising a family and supporting her children through college and beyond, Linda embarked on a new chapter by pursuing a degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Geography, and Water Studies. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas State University, fulfilling a long-held passion for science and the natural world. Following her retirement in 2021, she joined the Science Mill as an Exhibit Explainer, where she continues her journey of discovery and education excited to share her love of science and curiosity with visitors of all ages.

Outside of work, Linda enjoys the peace of her country home, listening to music, playing her guitar, exploring swimming holes, and traveling across Texas to spend time with her family.

Her favorite exhibit is Dig In! This interactive sandbox lets you shape mountains, valleys, and rivers with artificial sand. As you move the sand, an overhead projector displays contour lines that change in real time. Hold your hand above the sand, and it creates virtual rain—watch the water flow and collect just like in nature—demonstrating natural processes like runoff, erosion, and watershed formation.
