BECKIE J. MORRIS
Beckie joined the Science Mill in 2025 as their Registrar. She is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all field trips and group visits, as well as helping with Labs on the Go, after-school clubs and summer camps.
Beckie has a BA in Earth Science and Environmental Studies with an emphasis in geology and water quality. After moving back to Austin, she was a hydrogeologist and environmental educator for a groundwater conservation district (GCD) in the Austin area, and general manager for another GCD in Hays County. Beckie was also appointed to the City of Austin’s Environmental Board.
More recently, she homeschooled her daughter for over 10 years. The Science Mill was a great addition to her science curriculum ever since it opened. In Beckie’s free time, she likes to read, can various foods, hike, and watch her daughter on the Johnson City Joules robotics team.
Beckie’s favorite exhibit is The Story of Water because she believes groundwater is very important to protect and it reminds her of spelunking in caves around Austin.
