STEM in the Rainforest

Step into the role of a scientist and discover the wonders of the rainforest!

Located in Studio 5, STEM in the Rainforest invites visitors to explore remarkable animals, investigate their adaptations, and discover how scientists study and protect their habitats.

From a toucan’s colorful bill to a tamandua’s powerful claws, explore the features that help animals find food, move through the forest, and survive. Observe live poison dart frogs, examine preserved animal specimens up close, and investigate how different animals make their homes throughout the rainforest’s layers—from the forest floor to the treetops.

At the Research Lab, practice thinking like a scientist as you observe, ask questions, compare evidence, and make discoveries. Explore how a toucan’s bill helps release body heat, why camouflage matters, and what an animal’s body can reveal about its life.

Along the way, discover careers in field biology, ecology, zoology, and conservation science. See how curiosity can grow into a career, and how studying rainforest life helps us protect its future.
