Solar Car Creators Workshop

Ever wondered how a car can run on sunlight? Join us for Solar Car Creators, a hands-on workshop where participants will build and test their own solar-powered cars while exploring how solar energy is converted into electricity. Learn the science behind renewable energy, experiment with solar power, and discover how engineers use the sun to power vehicles.

As a special bonus, visitors will have the opportunity to meet teams from the Solar Car Challenge Foundation, one of the nation's premier project-based STEM programs. These high school teams spend 15 months planning, designing, engineering, building, and racing roadworthy solar cars.

During their 2026 driving event, teams will stop at the Science Mill for a break on their journey, giving guests a chance to see real solar cars up close. Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience solar-powered innovation in action!
