May Homeschool Day: Sustainable Futures

To close out the Homeschool Day Year, students and guests will dig into topics and careers associated with sustainability, conservation, and regenerative agriculture. We will also have our STEM Project Showcase in the lobby.

FLOOR ACTIVITIES

Hand Pollinators - Guests will learn how bees and other insects help to pollinate flowers by creating their own hand pollinators!

Seed Bombs - Guests will create their own seed bombs to plant at home and learn about plants and the plant cycle!
Future Simulators - Guests will engage with different simulations that help them understand sustainable farming practices (City Farm), and how climate change is impacting the frequency and intensity of natural disasters (Stop Disasters).

LEARNING LABS

K-2 Terrific Terrariums - Students will learn about gardening and the plant cycle as they create their own jar terrariums!

3-5 & 6-12 Ozobot Town - Students will learn how artists are leading the charge of envisioning how climate change might affect our cities and communities. Students will then design their own sustainable future cities!

STEM Mentorship Hour

Spring Project Showcase - Participating students will share their posters of the STEM Scholar Project in the front lobby for all guests to engage with

Graduation Ceremony - It’s the end of the year! STEM Scholars will receive their graduation certificates. Thank you for joining us!
