This December Homeschool Day, let’s get CHEMICAL! Floor activities and learning labs include chemistry demonstrations, lava lamp making, and fun kitchen science experiments!

Floor Activities

Comes with admission

  • Elephant Toothpaste - Science Mill Demo where guests will observe a chemical reaction by mixing items that can be found in a common household kitchen

  • Mini Lava Lamps - Guests will create their own mini lava lamps to take home

  • Get the Iron Out - Guests will use magnets to see how much iron is in their cereal!

Learning Labs

Additional registration required

  • K-2 Edible Slime - Students will learn about common chemistry principles such as mixing and solutions by creating their very own and very tasty edible slime (SOLD OUT!)

  • 3-5 Chemical Power - Students will learn about endothermic and exothermic reactions by testing 3 different chemical reactions (SOLD OUT!)

  • 6-12 Curdling Chemistry - Students will learn about the unique chemical and microbiological properties of cheese and milk by making their own cheese

STEM Mentorship Hour

Chemical Rockets - STEM Scholars will test different chemical reactions to launch rockets!
