FORCE_AND_MOTION.png
k-2_coasting_coasters.png

Students race objects down a DIY marble run to explore forces that make things go (gravity) and slow (friction).

3-5_zipaway.png

Students think like engineers to create custom zipline carriers, then observe forces, motion and speed to improve their designs.

3-5_marble_roller_coaster.png

Challenge teams to create coasters, the wilder the better! Drops, jumps and loops show potential and kinetic energy in action.

6-8_roller_coaster_tycoon.png

Teams design crazy coasters (2 loops, 1 jump minimum!) to test with riders—how will gravity and friction affect each trip?

Virtual: $10-$12 per student*

In-Person: $225 per class**

ENVIRONMENTAL_SCIENCE.png
K-2-Creature-Connections.png

Students build an ecosystem, food chain by food chain, as they link hungry critters in this hands-on game.

3-5-Webs-of-Mystery.png

Students become ecosystem sleuths to uncover connections among creatures and solve the mystery of what’s affecting the food web.

6-8-Water-Investigations.png

What’s wrong with this water? Students conduct chemical tests and gather data to trace the problem to its source.

Virtual: $10-$12 per student*

In-Person: $225 per class**

LIFE-SCIENCE.png
K-2-Gettin'-Buggy-With-It.png

Students get up close with real bugs (embedded in clear blocks) and use critical thinking to turn observations into classifications.

3-5-Under-the-Lens.png

Lab-quality microscopes give students a larger-than-life look at bug anatomy to spot similarities and differences that define insects.

6-8-Bug-Inspired-Biomimicry.png

Students take inspiration from nanotechnology and natural specimens to sketch a prototype for a problem-solving gadget.

Virtual: $10-$12 per student*

In-Person: $225 per class**

Package pricing is for 30 students. Orders need to be placed at least 21 days before the start date of your scheduled lab. Contact us at programs@sciencemill.org if you need a rush order or if you have fewer than 30 students.
