Barbara Anne Stephens

A graduate of Trinity University, Barbara Anne Stephens became a fundraising professional in 1988 following a career in teaching.  She was Director of Development and Public Relations for Mission Road Ministries from 1988 to 1997.  In January of 1997, she was named Vice President of Development for the Witte Museum.  In the fall of 1998, Stephens became a fundraising consultant.  Barbara Anne has taught courses in fundraising, including, “Fund Raising for Non-Profit Organizations” for the University of Texas, Austin, Texas Nonprofit Strategic Management MBA program and “Effective Event Planning” for the Hill Country Summit for Non Profit Organizations. Her list of clients includes churches and statewide religious organizations, arts and cultural institutions, libraries, human service agencies and secondary schools.  She is former President of the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP) – San Antonio Chapter, was twice the President of the Trinity University Alumni Association and a former Advisory Trustee, is a member of the Trinity University Board of Visitors, and is a Ruling Elder of First Presbyterian Church, San Antonio.   She currently serves on the board of The Porch, and ecumenical ministry at St. Philip’s College.   She has been married to her husband, Kenneth, for 48 years and they have two sons, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren.  AFP– San Antonio, named Barbara Anne Outstanding Fund Raising Executive of 1999.
